Announcing SkySight, the world’s first big data analysis
platform that supports drones
Performing big data analysis, image analysis and remote control by integrated
management of digital big data of drones, IoT and wearables
TOKYO, Japan (August 27, 2015) - OPTiM Corporation (TSE Mothers: 3694), a leading provider of business-related applications for smart devices, proudly announces SkySight, the world’s first※1 big data analysis platform that supports drones. SkySight provides the world’s first platform that allows not only aerial photographs by drones, but also integrated management of digital big data of drones, IoT and wearables, and performs big data analysis, image analysis and remote control. Through practical use by enterprises aiming at revolutions in every industry by utilizing digital big data of drones, IoT and wearables, we anticipate high level fusion of industry and IT, resulting in resolutions for various kinds of issues surrounding Japanese industries.
Recently, Japan’s industrial environment has been getting severer because of a decreasing population, a shrinking workforce due to aging and increased needs for industrial specialists. This has led to a large-scale societal problem, difficulty of technology handing down and productivity improvement. On the other hand, IT technologies to cope with these issues have been remarkably progressing, and products and services utilizing digital data of drones, IoT and wearables fields have already started. Each of these fields is provided with individual specific products and services, and all of them are expected to bring a lot of benefits.
OPTiM has been proceeding with research and development based on the idea that integration of individual products and services for drones, IoT and wearables will increase current values and also create new values. And now we have started providing SkySight, a big data analysis platform that supports drones.
In addition, by extracting specialists’ know-how of each industry with a combination of big data analysis, image analysis, remote control etc., and by further realizing work automation and remote support based on them, we anticipate that various kinds of issues in Japanese industries will be resolved.
- Allows judgment or new discoveries based on compound information by combination of scanning data, sensing data and digital work log data. Also allows judgment or new discoveries based on development comparison given by past data analysis capability.
- Performs automatic analysis of digital data accumulated as big data, by incorporating professional knowledge (algorithm) of each industry.
- Remotely controls wearable devices by utilizing OPTiM’s extensively-researched remote technology.
- Mapping of scanning data by drone
- Mapping of digital data by wearable device
- Mapping of various sensor data
- Image analysis and abnormality detection of scanning data by drone
■Agriculture IT usage example
OPTiM, Saga University's Faculty of Agriculture and the Saga prefectural government's Production Promotion Department are cooperating with the goal to help Saga Prefecture become the world's #1 in IT agriculture, and on August 27, 2015, signed a three-party cooperation agreement. In this pact, we will research digital scanning of big data and put it into practice.
With the land that the Saga government possesses for agricultural research, and the land belonging to the Faculty of Agriculture in Saga University, digital scanning by drones can be realized. This big data from the digital scans can be analyzed to easily perform operations such as inspection for insect damage to plants or growth management, and with this, we strive to help with staff deficiencies and procedure optimization (such as fertilizing, weeding, pest control, harvesting and so on), as well as conducting further research and putting those findings into practice.
