Tokyo - OPTiM, a leader in providing IT support solutions that enable creativity, collaboration and convenience while online, today announced that “Optimal Remote” had been selected as a remote support solution for “Smart TV Stick”* by KDDI Corporation (KDDI) to provide remote assistance to users. “Optimal Remote” is now the world’s first remote support tool that is compatible with a small stick-shaped STB.
*“Smart TV Stick” is a small stick-shaped STB that allows users to enjoy both online video services and a wide variety of Android™ apps on their home TVs.
“Optimal Remote” is a secure remote support tool that allows an operator to remotely control users’ devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, routers, TVs, MFPs, STBs and so on. It significantly reduces time and cost by screen sharing, remote operation, and giving visual step-by-step guidance to users to eliminate the need for companies to send someone from a technical support team to resolve issues or spend hours trying to explain the solution verbally. The tool allows an operator not only to configure OS settings but also to control and adjust application settings which enables to provide broader and more efficient support and management. “Optimal Remote” is widely used by major wireless carriers for user support and troubleshooting for smartphones and tablets in a business situation.
KDDI decided to implement OPTiM’s “Optimal Remote” to provide users convenient and efficient service based on the satisfying result from implementing “Optimal Remote” in the “Anshin Security Pack”.** By using “Optimal Remote”, KDDI operators are able to support users remotely when they have questions regarding settings or how to operate the program.
**“Anshin Security Pack” is a security service that includes three applications: Virus Buster Mobile for au, secure platform for remote lock and location search, and remote support service.
